Owner / Strength + Conditioning Coach

Brian McDonough began his career 17 years ago as a physical education and health teacher at the Grover Cleveland School in Dorchester, MA. After finding success training athletes after school and in the summer, he ultimately left teaching to form Edge Performance Systems.

To date, McDonough has worked with more than 180 professional athletes from the NFL, NHL and AHL, and thousands of elite college and high school athletes. For the last 7 years, he has been an assistant coach and strength coach for the South Shore Kings Junior A hockey team.



Strength + Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer

Erik Lundquist graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. While at UNH Erik was the captain of the Track and Field team where he achieved Conference Championships and a national ranking in the discus throw. Before being asked to join the staff at Edge Performance Systems, Erik fulfilled internship requirements at EPS. Currently Erik is the Assistant Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Edge Performance Systems, where he has worked with elite high school and college athletes, professional athletes, and male and female personal training clients.



Strength + Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer

Deron graduated from Hofstra University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. Deron played his final collegiate football season with Old Dominion University after spending his first three seasons at Hofstra University. Mayo was a co-captain of the Old Dominion Monarchs in 2010 and recorded 70 total tackles while also leading the team with 6.5 sacks. Deron also earned 2011 NSCA Strength and Conditioning All-American Athlete of the Year honors. While training at EPS, Mayo was able to cut his 40 time from a 4.37 down to a 4.27. He was a member of the 2011 Denver Broncos where he completed his first NFL training camp. Mayo is currently a player of the Canadian Football League where he is entering his second season with the Calgary Stampeders. Deron works winter and spring sessions at Edge Performance Systems where he trains elite high school and college athletes.



Strength + Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer

Andrew Lizotte graduated from Fitchburg State University with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology. While attending FSU, Andrew was a four year member of the Fitchburg State Football team where he achieved Academic All-Conference twice. Andrew completed his internship requirements at Edge Performance Systems in the summer of 2012. After his graduation, Andrew joined the EPS staff full time.




Jamie grew up in Norwood, MA playing boys youth hockey and then Assabet Valley Girls Hockey. Jamie attended Tabor Academy were she lettered all four years in both hockey and field hockey and lacrosse for three years. As a senior she captained both her field hockey and hockey teams. She attended Manhattanville College after graduating from Tabor. Jamie now lives in Mansfield, MA with her fiance Keith Bruno, daughter Madison and son Colby. She has worked for New England Pro-Am Hockey League for the past 13 years running prestigious hockey tournaments and continues now as Sr. Administrator. She also coaches U10 Walpole Express Girls Hockey. Jamie now joins the EPS staff as the administrator.


Physical Therapist

John graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Allied Health in 1997 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. He has spent the last twelve years developing his clinical skills, treating athletes of all levels and sports. John has earned multiple certifications pertinent to orthopedic physical therapy, including:

  • Board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, through the American Physical Therapy Association (www.apta.org)
  • Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy (www.ozpt.com)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, via the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

John has treated athletes from all sports, including Olympic, Division 1 collegiate, and professional athletes. He has lectured on a wide variety of topics related to prevention and treatment of athletic injuries, focusing on incorporating proper training strategies for injury prevention.


Strength + Conditioning Coach

Korey Higgins graduated in May 2014 with a B.S. in Applied Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Performance from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. After completing his internship at Edge Performance Systems in the summer of 2014, Korey Joined the EPS.



Director of Adult Performance Training/ Strength + Conditioning Coach

Jessica Coyle graduated from Curry College with a B.A. In psychology . While attending Curry, Jess was a four year member of the softball team. Jess earned awards such as two year team captain, most improved player and the Paula C. Martin award for dedication determination and drive. Jess received a Functional Strength Coach Certification through Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning and a Health and Wellness Exercise Nutrition certification through Precision Nutrition.
